About

MarketGrok.com is about learning how to invest. The basic idea behind investing is to put in one thing, whether money or time or cans or whatever, and get more of that thing back. The basics will all be covered eventually, and I will be covering more and different topics within the field of investing as I progress in getting more information here for you.

You can help me to help you more effectively by asking questions that I wasn’t clear enough in covering.

When I finally figure out how to make videos, then I’ll add in videos to help make your education in investing and investment matters more fun. Now I just have to learn how to be fun. LOL :)

So if there is anything you would like explained before I have a chance to cover it, just ask, and I’ll do what I can to fit your request into my already busy schedule (I actually do earn my living managing my trading system, and I love to help people understand markets and investing). Please forgive me if it takes a couple days to get to your request – I am still learning about this whole “blogging” thing! :)

Also, if you see links to books and products that I think are wonderful, when you buy what I recommend, there is a good chance that I will earn a small commission. The “affiliate” links are tracked by Amazon (or wherever they’re to) and I might eventually get something for the referral. Please note that I will not ever recommend anything that I do not fully stand behind. I value your trust far more than the pocket change I might get from you buying anything I whole-heartedly recommend. In other words, I won’t be recommending anything that sucks in my opinion. If you think any of my recommendations suck, let others know! Please. And also say why. If I disagree, maybe we can have the luxury of having a fun argument about it. Sound good? I always like a good argument anyway, so perhaps we can have some fun.

The primary goal of MarketGrok.com is to educate you to where you are willing and able to take full responsibility for your own investment decisions. See, I’m no trading advisor (refuse to get the license), and while it’s perfectly legal for investment advisors to lose every last cent you let them advise you on, without that license I won’t advise you on anything. Gee, I hope that makes sense to you. It’s just that I don’t let others manage my money any more. They have a far less vested interest in my profiting than I do, or my family does. Plus, if the advisors were actually any good, why would they advise others and put up with all the regulation of what they can say and do? I mean, really?

Either way, I truly hope that I can be on your list of “those who helped me the most” when you finally do make the ranks of having achieved your initial goals in investing.

Do I Receive Compensation for Recommending Books, Courses, etc.?

If I recommend it or review it, and link to it, and if you then buy it, then I do “get credit for the sale”. If one of the site’s contributors recommends a product, links to it, and all that – then it depends on them. I don’t change anything they do. It’s their post, their information, and copyright them. More specifically, from this point on out, when I write a review or recommendation for a product, every post will tell you if I shall be compensated if you buy from following the link I provide. Yeehaw, right?
